Tips
The following are the tips for enhancing backup process speed of communication from ActiveImage Protector clients to StorageServer bucket and achieving increased security level for backup image files in storage.
Avoid creating multiple buckets within a single storage.
When multiple buckets are created in a single storage, it may negatively impact on the backup process speed for clients. Therefore, you are recommended to create one bucket in one storage. It is also recommended to create bucket in storage dedicated to Actiphy ImageCenter (with StorageServer).
No bottlenecks over the network
When there exists a bottleneck in the network path (network interfaces, cables, and switches) from the ActiveImage Protector client to the server running Actiphy ImageCenter (with StorageServer), it will negatively impact on the client backup process speed. You are recommended to ensure there is no bottlenecks over the network before starting backup operation.
Use Cache device
When creating a bucket in a HDD delivering relatively slow read and write speeds is used, you are recommended to use an internal SSD or a USB SSD as cache device delivering faster read and write speed than the storage in which a bucket is created. The use of a device delivering faster read and write speed than the network interface used by the server running Actiphy ImageCenter (with StorageServer) is more effective.
When specifying multiple destinations for backups of multiple clients, configure the schedules starting with intervals.
When specifying the same bucket as the destination for multiple clients backup operation, you are recommended to configure the schedule settings to start backup processes with intervals. Distribution of date communication across clients and the bucket enables to reduce the process time per client.
The server running Actiphy StorageServer do not join domain server.
Enhancing the security level, it is recommended not to have the server running Actiphy ImageCenter (with StorageServer) join a domain. It is also recommended not to configure a shared folder.
